Free Yoga Classes for Seniors?

Silver Age Yoga is a 501 (c ) (3), non-profit organization. It's mission is to provide health enhancing, free yoga classes based on gerontology to low income seniors. Founded in 2003 by Del Mar yoga teachers, Frank & Serpil Iszak, Silver Age Yoga has delivered over 5000 free yoga classes.

In 2004 I took the advanced Silver Age Yoga teacher training and have been teaching a free Silver Age Yoga class at the Golden Hill Park and Recreation center's Community Clubhouse. Over 200 seniors have taken advantage and benefitted from these classes since then...and growing.

To date, there are 25 free, weekly Silver Age Yoga classes offered in Southern California & spreading across the country.  Yet there are costs involved.   All classes are asked to be supported by the community via donations and the Adopt-A-Center program. To date only 9 of these centers hosting classes are fully funded @ $2950 each per year. 

If we can get 100 people to send in $30 made payable to Silver Age Yoga (with Golden Hill on the memo line), you will help me keep this class going for these greatly deserving seniors.  Many of them are on fixed incomes and struggle to  make ends meet.  The yoga really helps them feel so much better,  physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually.

While the economy may be challenging, $25 is less than what it costs to see a movie for two with popcorn, etc or even go out to dinner. So splurge on giving back to our elders.  They will be so appreciative, as will I.  Thank you .
